Testimonials for La Manga Club Bootcamp

Update of never ending ‘weightloss’ story ...... here I am back again at bootcamp after 11 months, after promising myself that I would do it again but this time be fitter and thinner. November 2009 it started again!!!!

This time I was prepared, or so I thought, I had more clothes to change into and some cycling shorts as well as plasters and sunglasses and of course a better idea of what to expect! Once again a fabulous bunch of women of all different shapes and sizes as well as ages and life experiences, oh what fun I thought. I have to say that seeing the Mice and Wilson again was not fun nor was the first walk up a rather steep hill and trying to remind myself that I was 2 stone lighter than when I attended in January 2009, I could do the hills.   Then I thought welcome to boot camp La Manga style.  The food was fab and the help of the commandos as great as before, but not quite as scary as the first time.  The experience the 2nd time was totally different, totally exhilarating, equally as gruelling but in a totally different way (weird but I didn’t remember most of what I had gone through the first time – bit like childbirth I am led to believe).

11 months before I had spent a week, silently pushing myself and viewing it all from the back of the field and here I was on day 2, up front with the fit ladies - wow what a buzz I had learnt something from my first bootcamp and was using it well. the diet and exercise had paid off and I was loving the whole experience.

By the time we went cycling - a horrendous experience with a fantastic end in sight, I felt that I was on top of the world and then we hit the beach and my world tumbled around me. Kayaking and beach games - help me in a bikini (scary and all I could think of was being harpooned from the beach) and then the competitive edge came in and the sense of fun - yippee what fun and who cared if my belly was hanging over the edge - that's what I'm here for I thought as I gave a whoop - diving on my lilo for the race!!

When the weigh in came I once again went through a painful time worrying I had not given every exercise my full and total concentration and then I was up the stairs (and biting my nails) hit the scales - what a shock when I had managed 15lbs made even more unbelievable when I had lost 19lbs only 11 months before, just proving that it actually does work.  I got on a plane home and was able to fit in the seat with spare room - I got to the UK and was met by my brother who cried as he had not seen me this slim since I was a teenager - the joy of shopping has overwhelmed me and my bank manager is well happy!!!  I would like to say thanks to the trainers and the team at La Manga for their support but also the wonderful people I met there and their support which I could not have done so well without.  I am now planning a return in 2010 for yet some more fun and weightloss.
